Bring plenty of water with electrolytes, towel mat, extra towels you may need and your mat. For clothing, wear what you feel comfortable in- shorts, leggings, sports bra or tank. Usually synthetic fabrics breathe a little better in the hot environment over cotton- if you decide to wear cotton a thinner knit is more comfortable.
-
Prepare for class by not eating up to 2-3 hours beforehand. Some teachers advise to refrain from caffeine, which can become too much for your nervous system.
-
As a beginner, do what you can and self regulate. There is no judgement about what you can and can’t do. If the class becomes too intense, you can always lay down or leave the room. Make sure you prioritize electrolytes before, during and after class.
-
Wear what you are comfortable with- shorts, leggings, sports bra, tank or tshirt.
-
You can wear what you are comfortable in- leggings, tank, sports bra. For class bring a mat, mat towel+ extra towels (for a hot class), and whatever props you like such as ankle weights. The studio has some 1lb and 2lb weights, balls, and bands available.
-
Flow is dynamic, the teacher leads the movement from one posture to the next. 26 & 2 is more static, the teacher leads you to hold each posture. Each posture is done twice with rest in between during the floor series.
-
Wear what you are comfortable with. Wearing white is totally optional but is fun to wear while doing Kundalini for a brighter and bigger aura. You can wear looser fitting cotton or linen clothing or stick to traditional yoga wear leggings or tanks. Bring a mat totally optional to bring a blanket for the gong relaxation, your sheepskin to practice on or have a head covering.
-
Every Kundalini class we first tune in with mantra and then sometimes a short exercise or breath work warm up. Next will be an exercise set or kriya- a sequence of repetitive movements with breath work or mantra. The class usually ends with a special meditation and gong relaxation. Every class is different and is suitable for all levels with modifications.
